Robert Bigley enjoys a multi-faceted career that seems to broaden with each new season of life.
ACTOR/SINGER
Robert began performing at the tender age of five and has acted on screen and stage in productions throughout the country ever since. He portrayed Duncan Hines in the season five of the History Channel's "The Food That Built America" and has appeared in several commercials and independent films. He is enjoying the "Dad Era" of his theater career having recently played Walter Hobbs in ELF THE MUSICAL and Reverend Shaw in FOOTLOOSE at the MGM Beau Rivage, as well as King Triton in LITTLE MERMAID at the Dutch Apple Theatre in his hometown of Lancaster, PA.
CONDUCTOR
Bigley taught middle school, high school, community college and 4-year college in both private and public institutions and was twice listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. He has conducted a variety of ensembles throughout the years including the Greater Miami Youth Symphony, Opera Lancaster, the Cascade Symphony, and Orquesta Sinfónica María de Bohórquez (Barcelona). He served as Director of Choral Activities at Lancaster Bible College from 2007-2024 where he conducted the College Chorale and Chamber Singers. His ensembles frequently collaborate with other musical groups including two-time Grammy winners Ranky Tanky, modern Irish hymn writers Keith and Kristyn Getty, Dove Award-winning artist Michael Card, international recording artist Declan O’Rourke, the Grammy-nominated ensemble New York Polyphony, as well as the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra, Opera Lancaster, and even an appearance on the Christmas album of the Grammy-nominated metalcore band August Burns Red. In 2022, his LBC Chamber Singers were selected to perform at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association's annual conference. He has led concert tours around the world, including Ireland, the UK, China, and Spain with his LBC choirs.
Robert holds degrees from the University of Washington (DMA), the Eastman School of Music (MMus), and the University of Miami (BMus). He is married to the pianist and vocal coach, Kendra Bigley. They have an amazing, ever-growing family.
